ARTIST STATEMENT

I explore themes of identity in relationship to contemporary issues. My work ranges from intimate colored pencil drawings to hand-dyed rice installations, all of which are influenced by my Catholic upbringing in rural Mexico. Through the use of my culture’s vibrant color palette, I bring attention to and raise questions about the fate of nature and humanity.
